The Victoria Clube de Golfe course will be open to the
public as from September this year, Arnold Palmer, one
of the world's most illustrious golfers, designed the routing
plan for this exciting new course.
Laid out on virtually flat terrain, with a series of mounds
landscaped to emulate the outline of inland hills, a feature
that emulates a feeling of being on a scottish links course
(but without the cold).
The 18-hole, par-72 Victoria course measures 6,506 meters
from the back tees, making it the longest in Portugal.
Each hole, however, it has five tees to make it suitable
for golfers of all handicap levels.
One of the outstanding characteristics of the course is
a series of lakes and waterfalls. On the other hand, its
main trait lies in its extensive greens - averaging about
750 square meters each, with no two being alike.
The official opening will take place either in September
or early October, when Arnold Palmer will be present, an
occasion that promises to be a truly emotional affair.
